The Clockers? Yeah, they where a sight to behold, buzzing and whirring all about the city. Just smart enough to do what they were told, not smart enough to rebel. At least that's what we thought.
-- Silas Jack, Last Survivor of Corsovika
The Clockwork Automatons of Corsovika where constructed of brass and porcelain then an animated to make them move as smoothly and fluid as possible. (The creation of flexible porcelain itself was considered revolutionary and a mark of the cities divine fortune.) The Clockers, as they became known, were tasked with all of the labor of the city, allowing the human population to become more and more greedy. When the Smog appeared it ignored the Clockers as their brass and porcelain forms make them immune to the toxicity of the dreaded mist.
